About the Nursing Role at KFUPM

King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) in Dhahran, Eastern Province, is seeking a full-time Nurse to join their healthcare team. This role is suitable for individuals with 0-1 years of experience, offering an opportunity to contribute to patient care within a university setting.

Role Overview and Patient Care

The primary focus of this position is to provide comprehensive care and follow-up for patients with chronic diseases. This includes performing nursing assessments to deliver preventive and therapeutic services. The role also involves providing prompt nursing care and first aid, prioritizing patient needs effectively. Continuous professional development to maintain up-to-date knowledge, skills, and attitudes is expected.

Key Responsibilities

• Arranging patient entries for physician consultations based on serial order.
• Conducting nursing assessments and measurements in accordance with the Nursing Department's policies and procedures.
• Performing and submitting statistics for the treatment room to the responsible department.
• Executing physician-delegated therapeutic nursing procedures and monitoring patient conditions.
• Providing proper care for injuries, burns, fractures, and dressing all wounds.
• Administering prescribed injections and other treatments ordered by the physician.
• Participating in patient transfers when necessary.
• Assisting with university events as directed by the supervisor.
• Covering evening shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Responding to on-call duties when required.
• Working in assigned clinics as directed by the supervisor.
• Maintaining the confidentiality of patient records.
• Demonstrating awareness of fire hazards and necessary precautions.
• Evaluating the effectiveness of care provided and implementing corrective actions.
• Daily checking of emergency equipment, including oxygen cylinders, defibrillators, suction apparatus, and medical bags, ensuring they are in good working order.
• Daily checking of essential ambulance equipment, including oxygen supply, spinal boards, and intubation sets.
• Reporting any immediate problems or difficulties encountered during duties to the nursing supervisor.
• Maintaining the cleanliness of the emergency room and protecting patients from infection and accidents according to infection control measures.
• Performing additional duties as required.

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Institute or College of Nursing.
• Successful completion of the nursing license examination administered by the Saudi Council for Health Specialties.

Essential Skills

• Current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), valid for two (2) years, in accordance with the guidelines of the Saudi Heart Association.
