About the Role

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking a Supervisor Type II (Metrology/Calibration) to join their team in Dhahran. This full-time role involves overseeing calibration production control within the Secondary Calibration Squadron and providing Metrology advice and technical solutions to the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF).

Role Context and Purpose

As the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor, BAE Systems supports Saudi Arabia by providing equipment, support, and training to the RSAF. The Metrology and Calibration Wing (MetCal Wing) ensures the safe and effective operation of RSAF aircraft and weapon systems by maintaining Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) to performance specifications through quality-controlled calibrations traceable to the International System of Units. This position offers an opportunity to work within a multinational team of metrology professionals in an evolving calibration organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Metrology measurement, technical, logistical, and strategic support to the Calibration Squadron Commander, ensuring operations comply with RSAF QM 4-7702 and other directives.
  • Manage laboratory and department administration, resources, and staff to ensure timely and efficient task accomplishment.
  • Review resources, procedures, and processes to enhance capability, maximize performance, and ensure customer support.
  • Utilize statistics to analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for production output and turnaround time of calibration/production processes.
  • Recommend Metrology improvements to the Calibration Squadron Commander.
  • Liaise with RSAF Officers and Contractor personnel on calibration and lateral support requirements, collaborating with MetCal Engineering and Primary Calibration Squadron to determine capability for the Secondary Calibration Squadron, KKAB.
  • Motivate and encourage staff to achieve high performance and quality, and to develop personal skills and job knowledge.
  • Participate in meetings and activities as required by the Calibration Squadron Commander to promote understanding of Metrology within the RSAF.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Candidates should be proactive in planning resources for future tasks.
  • Excellent organizational skills are essential.
  • Demonstrated initiative and the ability to establish successful working relationships with the RSAF are necessary.
