EH&S Supervisor

About the Role

Air Products Qudra is seeking an experienced EH&S Supervisor to manage safety and environmental concerns for a 380kV Substation, 380kV underground cable, and 380kV OHTL Project in Duba. This full-time role requires an individual with extensive EH&S experience, particularly in substation and OHTL transmission lines, capable of independently managing project site safety and emergency response.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the full implementation of the project EH&S Plan.
• Promote a ‘Total Safety Culture’ and support related leadership activities.
• Coach EH&S team members and contractors on safety protocols.
• Support contractors’ HAZID processes and the Project Emergency Response Plan.
• Ensure EH&S risks are assessed and mitigation measures are in place.
• Assist the project team in identifying safety concerns and coordinate inspections and audits.
• Ensure safety equipment is regularly inspected, operational, and color-coded.
• Support the Permit to Work process and monitor adherence to LOTO procedures.
• Review and monitor subcontractor safety programs and practices.
• Provide EH&S expertise to the site team to ensure compliance with Air Products standards and local laws.
• Coordinate safety training for contractor organizations.
• Lead and participate in safety promotion events and programs.
• Prioritize and coordinate unforeseen site issues, escalating to the Air Products EH&S Lead or Manager as needed.
• Review Contractor-developed JSAs to ensure risk mitigation.
• Attend Contractor TBTs and Pre-Task Safety Talks, providing input as applicable.
• Conduct regular safety dialogues and formal PTW/JSA reviews.
• Contribute to the accurate completion of EH&S reports.
• Ensure immediate reporting of all incidents to the Area Construction Manager and EH&S Area Lead.
• Act as a member of the Site Emergency Response Team when required.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental, Health and Safety, or a relevant field.
• NEBOSH International General Certificate or equivalent is mandatory.
• A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in EH&S issues within substation and OHTL transmission line projects.
• Deep understanding of codes, standards, and regulations for environmental protection, occupational health, and safety, particularly in power transmission and distribution projects.
• Profound understanding of incident investigations.
• Excellent supervisory skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
• Flexibility to work long hours and travel to remote project sites.
• Experience in Saudi Arabia is an advantage.
• A KSA/International Driving license is required.
• Physically fit and able to spend a significant portion of the day on site.

Work Environment

This role is based at the project site in Duba, requiring a significant presence on-site and the ability to travel to remote areas as needed. The position demands a proactive approach to safety management within a dynamic construction environment.
