About the Role

Marriott International is seeking a Financial Controller to join its team in Jeddah. This full-time position functions as the property’s strategic financial business leader, responsible for developing and implementing property-wide strategies that meet the needs of the brand’s target customer and employees. The role provides essential financial expertise to support the brand service strategy and initiatives, while focusing on maximizing return on investment and delivering desirable financial results.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze financial data, market trends, and sales against expenses to inform strategic planning and create annual budget plans.
• Identify and implement strategies to improve profit, including cost/benefit analysis and exploration of new business opportunities.
• Ensure a strong accounting and operational control environment to safeguard assets, improve operations, and enhance profitability.
• Develop and maintain financial and accounting goals, ensuring timely submission of reports and accurate documentation of Profits and Losses.
• Monitor applicable taxes and ensure compliance with standard and local operating procedures (SOPs and LSOPs).
• Oversee internal, external, and regulatory audit processes, reviewing issues for accuracy and implementing necessary corrections.

Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement

• Lead and influence accounting teams, advocating for sound financial decision-making and holding staff accountable for performance.
• Communicate strategic goals, focus, and owner priorities clearly and precisely to subordinates.
• Understand and meet the needs of key stakeholders, including owners, corporate, and guests, by anticipating needs and involving ownership in key decisions.
• Advise the General Manager and executive committee on existing and evolving operating and financial issues.
• Attend owner meetings to provide context and explanation for financial results and understand strategic focus.
• Manage human resource activities for the team, ensuring cross-training, fair policy administration, and appropriate new hire orientation and development plans.

Qualifications

Candidates for this role should meet the following educational and experience requirements:

• A 4-year bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting or a related major, with 2 years of experience in finance and accounting or a related professional area.
• OR
• A Master's degree in Finance and Accounting or a related major, with no work experience required.
