Dir Systems/MIS

About the Role

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Dir Systems/MIS to join their team in Medina, Al Madinah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of experience and involves applying advanced knowledge in Management Information Services (MIS) technology and general hospitality business practices to support cluster and technology objectives. The role assists hotel management with MIS technology planning, decision-making, implementation, and maintenance, and may involve directing the work of hotel staff or technicians while interfacing with vendors, owners, executive committee, and hotel staff.

MIS Technology Project Management

• Create and maintain MIS technology plans.
• Coordinate and implement communications for all new MIS applications/system installations and problem resolution.
• Provide project support for new MIS roll-outs/implementations and lead project work as needed.
• Offer end-user support to hotel staff and the business center.
• Write proposals, analyses, projects, or cost-models.
• Provide timely, accurate, and detailed status reports as requested.

Technical Systems Support and Consultation

• Evaluate and recommend technology/asset life-cycles.
• Foresee, identify, and ensure resolution of MIS system performance problems.
• Certify software applications for property use and consult on all aspects of information technology.
• Execute property disaster recovery and business continuity related to technology.
• Ensure property compliance with company Policy and Information Security Manual, addressing deficiencies.
• Determine and implement solutions per cluster SOPs.
• Ensure periodic inventories of applications and hardware are conducted and reported to property management.
• Review vendor proposals and select appropriate vendors for local technologies/hardware, ensuring compliance with technology-related vendor contracts.
• Ensure properties secure and maintain technology assets according to company policies and standards.
• Solve support issues and train/develop junior employees.
• Manage information technology security compliance and ensure proper implementation of security measures.
• Manage reporting and compliance efforts for the assigned area.
• Create and maintain a secure server environment, perform server backups, and conduct routine/non-routine preventative maintenance.
• Ensure adequate bandwidth and secured circuits.
• Communicate and ensure implementation of information technology standards and best practices, providing exceptional customer service.

Budget Forecasting and Compliance

• Ensure property management realistically budgets and prioritizes department operating budgets based on anticipated information technology projects and property support/needs.
• Possess an in-depth understanding of property operations' financial dynamics and apply judgment to assist management in achieving technology-related goals.
• Provide guidance and assist properties in reviewing operating statements, researching, and resolving discrepancies in technology charges.
• Advise and ensure property management adequately addresses technology needs in short- and long-term planning.

Human Resources Management

• Maintain direct responsibility for area system managers and their teams.
• Provide work direction to property-based systems technicians and managers.
• Responsible for hiring, training, development, compensation, and performance management of direct reports and the team.
• Provide input and guidance to property management for their systems managers/technicians regarding hiring, performance, and development needs.
• Accountable for coverage models and team scheduling to ensure adequate cluster technology support.
