Dir Systems/MIS

About the Role

Marriott International is seeking a Dir-Systems/MIS to join their team in Medina, Central Area District. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of experience and involves applying advanced knowledge in Management Information Services (MIS) technology and general hospitality business practices to support cluster and technology objectives. The role focuses on assisting hotel management with MIS technology planning, decision-making, implementation, and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and maintain MIS technology plans.
• Coordinate and implement communications for new MIS applications/system installations and problem resolution.
• Provide project support for new MIS roll-outs/implementations and lead project work as needed.
• Offer end-user support to hotel staff and the business center.
• Write proposals, analyses, projects, or cost-models, and provide timely status reports.
• Evaluate and recommend technology/asset life-cycles.
• Foresee, identify, and ensure resolution of MIS system performance problems.
• Certify software applications for property use and consult on all aspects of information technology.
• Execute property disaster recovery and business continuity related to technology.
• Ensure property compliance with company Policy and Information Security Manual, addressing deficiencies.
• Determine and implement solutions per cluster SOPs.
• Conduct periodic inventories of applications and hardware, reporting results to property management.
• Review vendor proposals, select appropriate vendors for local technologies/hardware, and ensure compliance with technology-related vendor contracts.
• Ensure properties secure and maintain technology assets according to company policies and standards.
• Manage information technology security compliance and implement security measures.
• Perform server backups and routine/non-routine preventative maintenance.
• Ensure adequate bandwidth and secure circuits.
• Communicate and ensure implementation of information technology standards and best practices.

Budget Management and Compliance

• Ensure property management realistically budgets and prioritizes department operating budgets based on anticipated IT projects and support needs.
• Apply understanding of property operations' financial dynamics to assist management in achieving technology goals.
• Provide guidance and assistance to properties in reviewing operating statements, researching, and resolving discrepancies in technology charges.
• Advise and ensure property management adequately addresses technology needs in short- and long-term planning.

Human Resources Activities

• Maintain direct responsibility for area system managers and their teams.
• Provide work direction to property-based systems technicians and managers.
• Manage hiring, training, development, compensation, and performance of direct reports and team.
• Provide input and guidance to property management for their systems managers/technicians regarding hiring, performance, and development needs.
• Ensure adequate cluster technology support through coverage models and team scheduling.

Qualifications

• Advanced knowledge and skill in Management Information Services (MIS) technology.
• General hospitality business knowledge.
• 2-5 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to direct the work of hotel or technicians.
• Strong interface skills with vendors, owners, executive committee, and hotel staff.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Medina, Central Area District. The role involves working closely with hotel management, technicians, vendors, and various internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless MIS operations and compliance with company standards.
