Engineer I

About the Role

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts is seeking an Engineer I to join their team in Medina, Al Madinah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is responsible for responding to guest repair requests, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring the operational efficiency of hotel equipment and facilities. The role requires 0-1 years of experience in a relevant field.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to and resolve guest repair requests and maintenance issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment, and machinery for proper function.
• Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and utility shut-offs for buildings.
• Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Communicate daily activities and problems to other shifts using approved communication programs.
• Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb and A/C filter replacement, and ensure cleanup of work areas.
• Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on various equipment, plumbing (*, unclogging drains), and electrical components.
• Program TVs and perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties.
• Utilize the Lockout/Tagout system before performing maintenance work.
• Perform repairs on interior and exterior landscaping, including external sprinklers.

Candidates should possess basic knowledge or the ability to acquire knowledge in the following areas:

• General building maintenance
• Basic computer skills, including inputting air handler schedules and making temperature changes.

Safety and Compliance

The Engineer I must adhere to all company and safety and security policies and procedures. This includes reporting maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries, completing safety training and certifications, and properly storing flammable materials. Maintaining confidentiality of proprietary information and protecting company assets are also essential.

Guest Service and Teamwork

This role requires welcoming and acknowledging guests according to company standards, anticipating and addressing service needs, assisting individuals with disabilities, and thanking guests. The Engineer I is expected to develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, support team goals, and communicate professionally with others.

Physical Requirements

The position involves moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance, and heavier items with assistance. It also requires moving up and down stairs, service ramps, and ladders, as well as reaching overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
