About the Role
The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, *** is seeking an Engineer III to join its team in the Red Sea region. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience and focuses on maintaining the high standards of luxury and service that define Ritz-Carlton establishments globally. The role involves ensuring operational excellence and applying established standards such as the employee promise, credo, and service values.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Respond to and process customer repair requests, resolving maintenance issues with minimal supervision.
- Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment, including cleaning and lubrication, and conduct visual inspections.
- Transport equipment and identify, locate, and operate all equipment shut-off valves.
- Maintain required maintenance inventory and order necessary parts and supplies.
- Communicate daily activities and issues to other teams using approved standards and programs.
- Perform highly complex repairs to physical property, electrical systems, plumbing, mechanical equipment, air conditioners, refrigeration systems, and pool heaters, ensuring compliance with company standards and codes.
- Troubleshoot and repair various types of equipment, plumbing, and electrical systems, including lamps, HVAC appliances, and internet devices.
- Utilize the lockout/tagout system before performing maintenance work.
- Perform advanced mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) troubleshooting for the hotel.
- Train and mentor other engineers as needed, and perform Service Engineer responsibilities, including readings and rounds.
General Responsibilities
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, report maintenance issues, hazardous conditions, accidents, and injuries, and complete safety training.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance, ensure confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
- Greet guests according to company standards, anticipate service needs, assist disabled individuals, and express appreciation.
- Meet quality requirements and standards.
- Develop positive professional relationships with peers, collaborate to achieve goals, and respond appropriately to employee issues.
- Communicate clearly and courteously.
- Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than 50 pounds (* kg) independently, and heavier objects with assistance.
- Ascend and descend stairs, service ramps, and ladders, and reach objects overhead and below knees.
- Utilize computers for work-related information.
- Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, with professional or technical experience.
- Extensive experience and training in general maintenance, electricity or refrigeration, inventory and parts ordering, and interior/exterior surface preparation and painting.
- At least 2 years of hotel engineering/maintenance experience.
- Valid driver's license.
- Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) certification.
- Compliance with applicable state and federal certification and/or licensing requirements.
Required Skills
- High-level blueprint and standard electrical diagram reading skills for plumbing and HVAC.
- Above-average skills in engineering operations and strong general mechanical aptitude.
- Above-average skills in at least three of the following categories, and basic skills in the others: air conditioning and refrigeration, electricity, mechanics, plumbing, pneumatic and electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finishing, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building management.
- Strong knowledge and skills in the safe use of hand and power tools and other materials for repair and maintenance tasks.
- In-depth knowledge of all engineering computer programs related to preventive maintenance, energy management, and other systems, including interacting devices.
