About the Role

Marriott International is seeking a Mgr-Food & Beverage I for a full-time position in Medina, Central Area District. This role is responsible for overseeing all food and beverage operations, including culinary, restaurant, beverage, and room service, ensuring guest and employee satisfaction while meeting financial goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage financial, employee engagement, and guest satisfaction plans for Food and Beverage departments.
• Maintain a positive cost management index for kitchen and restaurant operations.
• Oversee all culinary, restaurant, beverage, and room service operations.
• Supervise and manage employees, overseeing day-to-day operations, and understanding employee positions to perform duties when necessary.
• Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage the team, advocating for sound financial/business decision-making.
• Create an environment that emphasizes motivation, empowerment, teamwork, continuous improvement, and a passion for service.
• Provide excellent customer service to both guests and employees, responding proactively to concerns.
• Set clear expectations for employees and team leaders, ensuring appropriate recognition for exceeding expectations.
• Manage day-to-day operations, drive quality, and verify that standards meet customer expectations daily.
• Provide guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
• Conduct timely performance reviews and promote fair treatment and open-door policies.
• Identify developmental needs and provide coaching, mentoring, or training to improve knowledge and skills.
• Comply with all corporate accounting procedures and drive effective departmental communication.

Qualifications and Experience

• High school diploma or GED with 4 years of experience in food and beverage, culinary, or a related professional area.
• Alternatively, a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major, with 2 years of experience in food and beverage, culinary, or a related professional area.
• Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency of all applicable food and beverage laws and regulations.
• Experience in developing and implementing business plans for food and beverage operations.
