Mechanical Technician

About the Role

Acwa China is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join their team in Rabigh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves performing maintenance, modification, overhauling, and installation activities on mechanical machinery. The technician will ensure effective functionality and reliability in accordance with standard operating procedures, HSE guidelines, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute daily and routine preventative mechanical maintenance work according to schedules and ACWA NOMAC procedures to support continuous operations.
• Monitor the physical condition of all machines in the assigned plant and report non-conformances to the Mechanical Engineer/Supervisor.
• Respond to mechanical failures and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and maximize equipment functionality.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues, including diagnosis, repair, and inspection for corrosion, cracks, leaks, and failures, performing necessary routine repairs.
• Diagnose causes of mechanical malfunction or failure, such as defective parts, and perform adjustments, alignment, oiling, greasing, and boiling in collaboration with the Mechanical Engineer/Supervisor.
• Interpret technical manuals, mechanical diagrams, and machinery drawings to perform maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.

Inventory and Documentation

• Monitor necessary stock levels of spare parts to maintain effective inventory control.
• Update the maintenance logbook with details of work performed, including defaults, problems, findings, and machine conditions, for accurate record-keeping.

Operational Compliance and Safety

• Adhere to all relevant organizational and departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions.
• Comply with all health, safety, security, and environmental procedures and controls to ensure employee safety and environmental compliance.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 3-5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance. The role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems and the ability to perform diagnostic and repair tasks effectively.

Additional Responsibilities

The Mechanical Technician will also contribute to identifying and implementing change initiatives, programs, and projects in line with organizational standards. Other duties as required by the line manager may be assigned.
