Operation Manager

About the Role

Acwa is seeking an Operation Manager to lead plant operations and laboratory functions. This full-time position is based in Makkah, specifically covering sites in Rabigh and Makkah. The role focuses on ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient production in alignment with contractual, quality, and HSE standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all plant operations, including power generation and/or water production, to achieve production targets.
• Ensure smooth, safe, and efficient day-to-day operational activities.
• Resolve critical operational issues and work to minimize downtime.
• Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with plant objectives.
• Oversee production planning, scheduling, and performance monitoring.
• Report operational performance, risks, and improvement initiatives to senior management.
• Lead, develop, and manage operations teams, typically comprising 30–100 employees.
• Set clear objectives and drive high performance and engagement within the teams.
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure effective preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Support planned outages, ensuring safe shutdown and restart procedures.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all HSE standards.
• Lead incident response and ensure proper reporting and implementation of corrective actions.
• Monitor plant performance to identify opportunities for efficiency and reliability improvements.
• Implement operational improvements and best practices.
• Oversee laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
• Monitor production parameters to maintain optimal performance.
• Manage operational contracts and ensure cost-effective service delivery.
• Oversee the inventory of chemicals, consumables, and equipment.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant operational leadership role.
• Demonstrated ability to manage large operational teams.
• Strong understanding of production targets, quality control, and HSE standards.

Work Environment

This role is based in Makkah, with responsibilities extending to facilities in Rabigh and Makkah. It is a full-time position within a dynamic operational setting.
