Operation Manager

About the Role

Acwa China is seeking an Operation Manager to lead plant operations and laboratory functions. This full-time position is based in Makkah, specifically covering sites in Rabigh and Makkah. The role focuses on ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient production in adherence to contractual, quality, and HSE standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all plant operations, including power generation and/or water production, to achieve production targets.
• Ensure smooth, safe, and efficient day-to-day operational activities.
• Resolve critical operational issues and work to minimize downtime.
• Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with plant objectives.
• Lead production planning, scheduling, and performance monitoring, reporting on operational performance, risks, and improvements to senior management.
• Manage and develop operations teams, ranging from 30 to 100 employees, setting clear objectives and fostering high performance and engagement.
• Coordinate closely with maintenance teams to ensure effective preventive and corrective maintenance, supporting planned outages, and overseeing safe shutdown and restart activities.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all HSE standards, leading incident response and ensuring proper reporting and corrective actions.
• Monitor plant performance to identify opportunities for efficiency and reliability improvements, implementing operational enhancements and best practices.
• Oversee laboratory operations, ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards, and monitoring production parameters for optimal performance.
• Manage operational contracts to ensure cost-effective service delivery and oversee the inventory of chemicals, consumables, and equipment.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant operational leadership role.
• Demonstrated ability to lead large teams and manage complex operational environments.
• Strong understanding of HSE standards and quality control processes.

Work Environment

This role involves leading significant plant operations within the power generation and/or water production sectors. The successful candidate will work in a dynamic environment, managing a substantial team and ensuring adherence to stringent operational and safety protocols.
