Packing Specialist

About the Role

Tuwaiq Casting & Forging Company is seeking a Packing Specialist to join the Production Control Department in Ras Tannurah, Eastern region. This full-time role reports to the Production Control Manager and is responsible for overseeing all packing operations for finished customer products at the facility. The specialist will ensure finished goods are efficiently and accurately packed, labeled, and prepared for shipment in accordance with company standards and customer requirements, while maintaining a safe, organized, and productive packing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Create work instructions for packing personnel and plan/schedule packing operations to meet production and shipping deadlines.
• Monitor workflow, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to optimize packing efficiency and maintain consistent output.
• Establish and maintain quality standards for packing processes and materials, conducting regular inspections to ensure proper packaging, labeling, and handling of finished goods.
• Supervise, train, and motivate packing shop personnel, including packers and material handlers, conducting performance evaluations and managing schedules.
• Monitor and manage inventory of packing materials, placing orders as needed, tracking usage, and minimizing waste.
• Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and procedures within the packing shop, conducting regular safety audits and providing training.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, evaluate new packing technologies, and stay current with industry best practices.
• Communicate effectively with other departments (production, shipping, customer service) and provide regular updates on packing shop performance.
• Maintain accurate record-keeping of packing activities and material usage, generating regular reports on packaging metrics.
• Identify opportunities to reduce costs associated with packing materials and processes, monitoring departmental expenditures.

Qualifications and Experience

• A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is an advantage.
• Minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in a packing or warehouse environment, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Experience in packing within the heavy metals industry is mandatory.

This is a full-time position within the Production Control Department at Tuwaiq Casting & Forging Company's facility in Ras Tannurah, Eastern region. The role involves overseeing operational packing activities and managing a team of packing personnel.
