The Role of Architectural Engineer

Albawani is seeking an Architectural Engineer to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role requires 4-7 years of experience and involves supporting the delivery of architectural works by assisting in the review, coordination, and implementation of design and construction activities on site. The Architectural Engineer will work under the guidance of the Senior Architectural Engineer and report to the Design Manager, contributing to various stages of project execution to ensure compliance with approved designs and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide daily architectural engineering support on site, addressing construction queries, RFIs, and technical clarifications.
• Review architectural works on site to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, mock-ups, and samples.
• Identify architectural site issues, discrepancies, or non-conformance and support their resolution in coordination with the Senior Architectural Engineer.
• Assist in producing red line drawings and as-built markups based on site conditions.
• Provide drafting support (AutoCAD/Revit) when required to resolve site issues efficiently.
• Ensure that all issued sketches/drawings are clear, coordinated, and aligned with the approved design intent.
• Review architectural shop drawings, material submittals, and samples under supervision, ensuring compliance with design intent, specifications, and project standards.
• Assist in preparing responses to RFIs and Technical Queries (TQs).
• Support documentation and tracking of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and site observations.
• Coordinate with structural, MEPF, façade, and fit-out teams for smooth execution.
• Communicate with subcontractors and suppliers on technical matters.

Required Experience and Skills

• 4-7 years of experience in architectural engineering, preferably within the construction or contracting industry.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for drafting and design support.
• Strong understanding of architectural design principles, construction methods, and building codes.
• Ability to review and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Effective communication and coordination skills for interacting with various project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve site issues and discrepancies.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, involving significant on-site presence to support construction activities and ensure adherence to project standards. The role requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and external stakeholders.
