Area Lead Mine Facilities

Role Overview

Wood is seeking an Area Lead – Mine Facilities to join its Projects business in Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is central to the development of a new gold mining and processing facility, specifically during the critical construction and pre-commissioning phases. The position requires a professional with extensive experience in industrial infrastructure projects.

Project Context

The successful candidate will play a key part in establishing essential infrastructure for a significant gold mining operation. This involves overseeing the build-out of various facilities and supporting systems, ensuring they meet project specifications and operational readiness standards before handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the construction of mine facilities and supporting infrastructure, including workshops, warehouses, offices, fuel systems, roads, drainage, and general infrastructure.
• Coordinate civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical & instrumentation (E&I) works across all project phases.
• Manage contractors and ensure compliance with HSE standards, project schedules, and quality requirements.
• Oversee project execution and ensure smooth handover of completed assets to Operations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 15 years of relevant industry experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Demonstrated experience working in Mining infrastructure projects OR Oil & Gas industrial facilities and infrastructure developments.

Work Location and Schedule

This full-time position may initially be office-based in one of the following cities in Saudi Arabia: Al Khobar, Riyadh, or Al Jubail. Following this initial phase, the role will transition to a site-based assignment within Saudi Arabia, operating on an 8/2 rotation schedule.
