About the Assistant Financial Controller Role

Al Hassan Ghazi Ibrahim Shaker Co. is seeking an Assistant Financial Controller to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves supporting the Financial Controller in managing daily financial controlling activities, primarily focused on sales and receivables. The role requires a professional with a minimum of 7-10 years of experience in accounting or finance.

Role Scope and Contribution

The Assistant Financial Controller will play a key role in financial operations, encompassing budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and internal controls. This position is central to ensuring financial accuracy and compliance, contributing to the effective management of sales and receivables through detailed financial analysis and SAP automation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor regional accounting operations to ensure adherence to company policies.
  • Coordinate with business departments to resolve operational issues and maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Review customer contracts in accordance with approved pricing matrices.
  • Ensure accurate and timely issuance of customer credit notes, complying with contracts and valid promotions.
  • Prepare sales and Gross Profit (GP) analysis by business segments, products, customer, and channel.
  • Review GP by category/customer and investigate budget variances.
  • Monitor trade discounts, Days Sales Outstanding (DSI), operational expenses, customer incentives, and related accruals.
  • Review monthly provisions for trade discounts, rebates, vendor support, commissions, and incentives.
  • Prepare periodical sales commission and incentive calculations, ensuring compliance with approved policy.
  • Coordinate with the IT department to fix system issues, enhance SAP processes, and support automation initiatives.
  • Maintain proper and adequate records and documentation for all departmental processes, ensuring alignment with company policies, procedures, and pertinent regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure high standards of confidentiality to safeguard commercially sensitive information, including financial and confidential data.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and regulations (GAAP, IFRS, etc.).

Required Skills and Attributes

  • Proficiency in financial software and MS Office suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience in SAP financial modelling.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
