About the Role

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, *** is seeking a dedicated Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves assisting in the daily supervision of restaurant operations, including Restaurants/Bars and Room Service where applicable. The successful candidate will be instrumental in upholding The Ritz-Carlton's "Gold Standards" by ensuring exceptional guest and employee satisfaction. This position requires 5-10 years of relevant experience in restaurant management.

Operational Oversight and Standards

The Assistant Restaurant Manager is responsible for maintaining high operational standards and ensuring compliance across all restaurant functions. Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting in the daily supervision of restaurant operations and shift management.
• Helping with menu planning and maintaining strict sanitation standards.
• Ensuring compliance with all restaurant policies, standards, and procedures.
• Monitoring beverage service to ensure adherence to local laws.
• Managing operations to achieve or exceed budgeted financial goals.
• Ensuring all employees have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms.
• Communicating any issues regarding food quality and service levels to the Chef and Restaurant Manager.
• Opening and closing restaurant shifts as required.

Team Leadership and Development

This role involves active leadership and development of the restaurant team to foster a high-performance environment. Responsibilities include:

• Handling employee questions and concerns, and monitoring performance to ensure expectations are met.
• Providing constructive feedback to employees based on observations of service behaviors.
• Supervising ongoing training initiatives and utilizing available on-the-job training tools.
• Communicating performance expectations in accordance with job descriptions for each position.
• Coaching and counseling employees regarding performance on an ongoing basis.
• Participating in department meetings to communicate clear and consistent messages regarding departmental goals.
• Managing the restaurant and all related areas in the absence of the Director of Restaurants or Restaurant Manager.

Guest Experience Management

A core aspect of this role is to ensure an exceptional guest experience, aligning with The Ritz-Carlton's service philosophy. Key duties include:

• Interacting with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
• Supervising staffing levels to meet guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives.
• Encouraging employees to provide excellent customer service within established guidelines.
• Handling guest problems and complaints, seeking assistance from a supervisor as necessary.
• Setting a positive example for guest relations and striving to continually improve service performance.
• Assisting in the review of comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees.
• Meeting and greeting guests upon arrival.

Qualifications and Additional Duties

Candidates for this role should possess strong leadership and problem-solving abilities, coupled with a commitment to service excellence. Required experience and additional responsibilities include:

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in restaurant management or a similar supervisory role.
• Ability to analyze information, evaluate results, and choose the best solutions to problems.
• Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates through various communication channels.
• Assisting servers and hosts on the floor during peak meal periods and high demand times.
• Recognizing good quality products and presentations.
• Performing duties of restaurant employees and related departments as necessary.
