About the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority is a key governmental body in Saudi Arabia, responsible for ensuring compliance with the Kingdom's tax regulations, audit procedures, and administrative rules. Based in Riyadh, the Authority plays a crucial role in managing and overseeing tax liabilities across various sectors.

The Role of an Auditor

We are seeking a dedicated Auditor to join our team in Riyadh. This is a full-time position designed for individuals with 0-1 years of experience, offering an opportunity to develop professional expertise within a structured environment. The Auditor will perform specific tasks under close supervision, focusing on research, information gathering, analysis, and drafting essential reports and documents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in income assessments and financial record reviews for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).
  • Examine historical tax records to accurately identify tax liabilities and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Communicate with taxpayers to obtain necessary clarifications regarding declarations.
  • Develop and update assessment templates and audit tools in line with operational procedures and policies to facilitate SME tax imposition and timely valuation.
  • Monitor industry-specific developments, news, and updates (*, business, insurance, telecommunications, consumer goods) to incorporate new tax practices into assessments and audit reviews.
  • Review current and past audit files to validate sales, accounts receivable, import, inventory, and other related accounts.
  • Prepare reports on high-risk cases identified through audit results and liaise with relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with the Legal Support Department to ensure adherence to the Authority's technical position and all tax-related laws, policies, and regulations.
  • Submit accepted audit reports to chairs for review and approval, incorporating feedback to finalize audit results.
  • Review drafted audit reports, verify compliance with policies and procedures, approve tax amounts, and provide constructive feedback to other auditors.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or an equivalent field.
  • 0-1 years of relevant professional experience.
