Captain (Dry)

About the Role

Marriott International is seeking a Captain (Dry) to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves overseeing service operations within banquet rooms, restaurants, and coffee breaks, ensuring high standards of presentation and guest satisfaction. The role requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Communicate service requirements to chefs and stewards during functions.
• Total charges for group functions and present checks to group contacts for payment.
• Ensure banquet rooms, restaurants, and coffee breaks are prepared for service.
• Verify that proper centerpieces are displayed on all tables.
• Inspect the cleanliness and presentation of all china, glass, and silver before use.
• Engage with guests to ensure their satisfaction.
• Set tables according to event type and service standards.
• Relay additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day.
• Adhere to all company and safety and security policies and procedures, reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to management.
• Complete all required safety training and certifications.
• Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
• Welcome and acknowledge all guests in accordance with company standards.
• Communicate professionally and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships, support team goals, and respond appropriately to employee concerns.
• Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
• Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Required Experience and Skills

• 2-5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Strong communication skills for interacting with guests and team members.
• Ability to manage service needs and ensure operational readiness.
• Attention to detail regarding cleanliness, presentation, and guest satisfaction.
• Proficiency in handling payments and preparing checks for group functions.
