About the Role
Parsons Corporation is seeking a Cost Specialist to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position for a Saudi National, requiring 5-10 years of experience in cost control. The role involves managing project budgets, forecasting, and reporting cost status in collaboration with various project teams and departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure proper cost allocation to projects and maintain visibility for the cost control team.
- Interface with clients, attend regular meetings, and prepare statistical reports.
- Customize project control systems to meet specific project requirements.
- Support the Project Director in reviewing and finalizing business plans.
- Provide guidance and specialized assistance in resolving complex cost control issues.
- Participate in monthly and quarterly reviews, supporting the project team in explaining variances and their justifications.
- Utilize historical data and trends for future planning and forecasting.
- Perform variance analysis against baseline projections and recommend corrective actions.
- Establish resource, revenue, and cost projections for projects in coordination with project teams.
- Prepare and update weekly and monthly cost-tracking reports.
- Analyze, evaluate, forecast, and report cost status against the established baseline with the planning team.
- Set up baseline budgets for resources, revenue, and costs using an appropriate Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), coordinating with various disciplines, the Project Manager, and Scheduler.
- Provide financial and cost analysis, earned value, and cost performance reporting.
- Manage project budgets, invoicing, change control, and cost forecasting.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field from an accredited university or institution.
- At least 8 years of related work experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for mega engineering, construction, or entertainment construction projects.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills, and Power BI.
Desired Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as CA, CPA, or ACCA are preferred.
- Experience with PMC firms and main contractors is preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of industry practices and standards.
Work Environment
This full-time role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within a dynamic project-focused environment. The Cost Specialist will collaborate with various internal teams and external clients to ensure effective cost control and financial oversight for projects.
