Document Controller

About the Role

Bechtel Saudi Arabia is seeking a Document Controller for the King Salman International Airport (KSIA) Project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position reports to the Project Document Manager and is integral to maintaining effective document management practices within a high-volume, fast-paced project environment. The role focuses on coordinating document workflows, ensuring compliance with governance procedures, and enhancing data accuracy across all documentation processes.

Project Overview: King Salman International Airport

Bechtel Saudi Arabia provides project management consultancy services, including technical, commercial, and construction management, for the development of King Salman International Airport in Riyadh. This state-of-the-art international airport is designed to accommodate up to 120 million travelers by 2030 and 185 million travelers by 2050, with a cargo capacity of up to million tons by 2050. The project includes three new terminals: Terminal 6 (a new build 'low cost carrier' terminal of approximately 450,000m2 with a capacity of 20mppa), the Iconic Terminal (a new build 'new concept' terminal of approximately 1M m2 with a capacity of 40 to 45 mppa), and a Private Aviation Terminal and hangars for VIPs and business jet passengers.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Enterprise Content Management Systems (ECMS) such as Aconex and Unifier, and other associated tools as a member of the document management team.
• Assist in determining integration requirements and preparing ongoing support plans.
• Utilize standard ECMS, archival/retention management systems, and/or SaaS applications for registering, controlling, distributing, transmitting, and archiving project records.
• Design, implement, and refine document control processes and workflows across the project.
• Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with company policies, project requirements, and ISO standards (*, ISO 9001, ISO 19650).
• Monitor and review data entry accuracy for self and support staff.
• Create and update desktop work instructions, plans, and procedures.
• Provide training on work processes and tools.
• Interact with end users to support, troubleshoot, and resolve issues, providing technical support for system-related concerns.
• Interact and troubleshoot document control and system issues with contractors and suppliers.
• Assist with access issues related to SSO or other authentication tools/processes.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in document control or a related field.
• Strong understanding of document control systems and practices.
• Demonstrated knowledge of various types of project deliverables in infrastructure projects and their associated document lifecycles.
• Experience with record retention and project closeout activities.
• Knowledge of job role-based distribution/communication matrix.
• Understanding of the functionality of two-step verification (2SV) authentication processes.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuring timely and accurate documentation flow.
