About the Role

Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts is seeking a General Technician to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time role is essential for maintaining the operational integrity and guest comfort within the hotel. The position involves comprehensive technical work, including the inspection, repair, and maintenance of various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in a similar technical capacity.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, and maintain HVAC, air quality control, and refrigeration equipment.
• Conduct daily inspections of the mechanical plant, monitor and control property temperature, and analyze energy and utilities usage.
• Calibrate controls, gauges, meters, and other equipment.
• Assemble, install, test, repair, and maintain electrical systems or electronic wiring.
• Assemble, install, and maintain pipe assemblies, fittings, and valves.
• Perform routine pool and spa maintenance.
• Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures, reporting maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
• Identify, recommend, develop, and implement new ways to increase organizational efficiency, productivity, quality, safety, and/or cost-savings.

Physical Requirements

• Reach overhead and below the knees.
• Move in confined or elevated spaces.
• Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces.
• Move up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or a ladder.
• Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight.
• Assist with moving, lifting, carrying, and placing objects weighing in excess of 100 pounds.
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a general technician role.
• Education: Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree.
• Required Certifications: EPA Universal Certification, Driver's License, and HVAC Certification.

Professional Conduct and Standards

The General Technician is expected to maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance. This role requires maintaining confidentiality of proprietary information and protecting company assets. Interaction with guests involves welcoming and acknowledging them according to company standards, anticipating and addressing their service needs, and speaking with others using clear and professional language. Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with colleagues and ensuring adherence to quality expectations and standards are also key aspects of this position. Completion of all required safety training and certifications is mandatory.
