About the Role: Hazmat Officer / Hazardous Materials Specialist

ZRVS, a leading medical group located in Jaddalah, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is seeking an experienced Hazmat Officer / Hazardous Materials Specialist. This contract position is dedicated to supporting hazardous materials safety, handling, storage, and emergency response activities within the organization.

Role Purpose and Context

The Hazmat Officer will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe environment by managing and monitoring all aspects of hazardous materials. This includes maintaining strict compliance with safety procedures and applicable HSE requirements, as well as actively participating in emergency preparedness and response efforts within a healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor the safe handling, storage, transportation, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety procedures and applicable Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) requirements.
  • Identify hazardous materials and assess associated risks.
  • Maintain proper documentation, safety records, and hazardous material inventories.
  • Support emergency response procedures involving chemical and hazardous material incidents.
  • Conduct safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
  • Ensure appropriate use and availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and emergency response equipment.
  • Coordinate with relevant teams during hazardous material incidents and emergency situations.
  • Conduct safety awareness and handling procedures for employees where required.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and report safety violations or incidents.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant Diploma / Degree or professional qualification in Hazmat Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Safety, Emergency Response, or a related field.
  • Relevant experience of 2-5 years as a Hazmat Officer / Hazardous Materials Specialist.
  • Prior GCC experience is preferred.
  • Candidates with relevant Hazmat/HSE certifications will be preferred.

Required Skills and Attributes

  • Strong knowledge of hazardous material handling and safety procedures.
  • Good communication, reporting, and emergency response skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a healthcare/medical environment.

Additional Information

This is a contract position based in Jaddalah, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The salary for this role is negotiable, dependent on the candidate's experience and qualifications.
