About the Role

ZRVS, a leading medical group in Saudi Arabia, is seeking an experienced Hazmat Officer / Hazardous Materials Specialist. This contract position, based in Jiddah, Makkah, requires 2-5 years of relevant experience. The role is critical for supporting hazardous materials safety, handling, storage, and emergency response activities within a healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and monitor the safe handling, storage, transportation, and disposal of hazardous materials.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety procedures and applicable HSE requirements.
  • Identify hazardous materials and assess associated risks.
  • Maintain proper documentation, safety records, and hazardous material inventories.
  • Support emergency response procedures involving chemical and hazardous material incidents.
  • Conduct safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
  • Ensure appropriate use and availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and emergency response equipment.
  • Coordinate with relevant teams during hazardous material incidents and emergency situations.
  • Conduct safety awareness and handling procedures for employees where required.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and report safety violations or incidents.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant Diploma / Degree or professional qualification in Hazmat Management, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Safety, Emergency Response, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience as a Hazmat Officer / Hazardous Materials Specialist.
  • Prior GCC experience is preferred.
  • Candidates with prior GCC experience and relevant Hazmat/HSE certifications will be preferred.

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of hazardous material handling and safety procedures.
  • Good communication, reporting, and emergency response skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a healthcare/medical environment.

Work Environment and Contract Details

This role is based in Jiddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, within a leading medical group. It is offered as a contract position, with salary being negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
