CodeNinja Inc. is a technology and AI consulting firm that delivers embedded and forward-deployed engineering and leadership talent to leading financial institutions across KSA, Pakistan, Egypt, and Latin America. We are seeking a Head of Liabilities to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time senior leadership position focused on the retail liabilities business for one of our banking clients.

Role Purpose and Scope

The Head of Liabilities will lead the retail liabilities business end-to-end, encompassing CASA, savings, term deposits, and investment/bancassurance propositions. This senior leadership role is responsible for driving deposit growth, optimizing the CASA mix, managing the cost of funds, and shaping the product and pricing strategy across the entire liabilities portfolio for our banking client.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the P&L for the retail liabilities business, including CASA, savings, term deposits, and investment/bancassurance products.
• Drive deposit growth strategy and CASA optimization to improve balance sheet mix and reduce the cost of funds.
• Lead pricing strategy across liability products in line with ALM and treasury guidelines.
• Develop and launch new liabilities and investment/bancassurance propositions aligned to market and customer needs.
• Partner with Treasury/ALM on funding strategy, liquidity management, and cost of funds optimization.
• Oversee Sharia-compliant deposit structures where applicable, ensuring product compliance with regulatory and Sharia board requirements.
• Build and lead a high-performing liabilities product and sales team.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Digital, and Branch/Distribution teams to drive product penetration and customer acquisition.
• Monitor the competitive landscape and market trends to inform product and pricing decisions.
• Report on portfolio performance, growth metrics, and P&L to senior leadership.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 12 years of banking experience, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role within consumer liabilities, deposits, or investments.
• Strong track record in CASA growth and optimization.
• Solid understanding of ALM principles and cost of funds management.
• Experience with Sharia-compliant deposit structures.
• Demonstrated ownership of a liabilities P&L.
• Strong product strategy and pricing capabilities.

Preferred Attributes

• Experience with bancassurance or investment product distribution.
• Exposure to digital deposit/investment platforms.
• Regional GCC banking experience.
