Head of software Engineering

About the Role

Ultimate Peaks Talent & Strategy is seeking a Head of Software Engineering to lead software development teams and oversee the delivery of technology solutions. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Head of Software Engineering will manage the full software development lifecycle, promote technical excellence, and ensure alignment with business objectives.

Role Context

In this leadership role, the Head of Software Engineering will collaborate with product management, design, and operations teams. The primary goal is to deliver scalable, high-quality software products that meet client needs. The role involves driving architectural decisions and ensuring the reliability and security of software solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop software engineering teams across various projects.
• Define and implement software engineering best practices, development methodologies, and quality standards.
• Drive architectural decisions and ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of software solutions.
• Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and delivery milestones to ensure on-time project completion.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing within the engineering team.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends.

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven experience of 10+ years in software engineering.
• At least 3-5 years of experience in a software engineering leadership role (*, Team Lead, Engineering Manager, Head of Engineering).
• Strong expertise in modern software development technologies, programming languages, and frameworks.
• Experience leading Agile teams and implementing Agile/Scrum processes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration across teams and with stakeholders.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Technical Requirements

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and DevOps practices.
• Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle, Agile methodologies, and quality assurance.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineering teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
