IB PYP Homeroom Teacher

Role Overview

The IB PYP Homeroom Teacher is responsible for the academic progress and overall wellbeing of their homeroom students. This involves contributing to collaborative planning and the development of transdisciplinary Units of Inquiry. The role requires educators who can establish clear classroom expectations while fostering curiosity, independence, student agency, and meaningful participation within the learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver learning experiences within the IB PYP framework.
• Develop students' literacy, numeracy, conceptual understanding, and Approaches to Learning skills.
• Contribute to collaborative planning and the implementation of Units of Inquiry.
• Utilise assessment evidence to monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies.
• Differentiate learning to provide appropriate support and challenge for all students.
• Maintain a positive, well-managed, and engaging classroom environment.
• Communicate professionally and effectively with parents and colleagues.
• Support students' academic, social, and emotional development.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Primary Education, Elementary Education, or a closely related field.
• Recognised teaching qualification, licence, or professional certification.
• At least three years of primary or elementary teaching experience.
• Strong skills in classroom management, assessment, and differentiation.
• Previous IB PYP experience is strongly preferred.
• Experienced teachers from British, *, or other recognised international curricula may be considered if they demonstrate strong primary teaching practice and readiness to work within the PYP framework.

This full-time position is based within an international school setting in Riyadh, offering a collaborative and dynamic educational environment focused on the IB Primary Years Programme.
