About the Role

Saudia Cargo is seeking a Load Master to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is responsible for ensuring that cargo aircraft are loaded and cargo doors for both main and lower decks, along with in-plane loading systems, are operated in accordance with IATA, Safety Regulations, and company policies and procedures. The role requires 0-1 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel on cargo flights as directed by the direct supervisor.
  • Review load planning/weight and balance documents and check unit load device contours for correct preparation.
  • Ensure the safe operation of cargo doors and utilize self-operated loading systems to maintain safety.
  • Verify that cargo is loaded within maximum hold, maximum pallets per side limits, maximum zone, weight, and maximum cumulative load limits.
  • Monitor the safe and correct stowage of special items such as heavy or bulky items, dangerous goods (*, flammable/magnetic cargo/radio-activities), live animals, perishables, and valuable cargo.
  • Ensure cargo is loaded securely and balanced to prevent internal aircraft damage.
  • Conduct regular inspections during flights when transporting special cargo and while the aircraft is in transit to ensure safety.
  • Ensure proper restraint of all unit load devices and bulky/oversize cargo.
  • Ensure the security of the area outside the cockpit, including crew luggage.
  • Coordinate with maintenance/flight mechanics in case of system malfunction or damage, reporting to the COCC manager, senior loadmaster, and next station, while keeping the cabin logbook updated.
  • Comply with aircraft limitations/restrictions set by the manufacturer for loading/unloading functions and adhere to the weight and balance/ground services procedure manual for each aircraft.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes, and practices, considering international best practices, business process improvement, cost optimization, and efficiency.
  • Submit a detailed loadmaster’s report upon completion of every flight.
  • Prepare required statements and reports timely and accurately to meet SACC’s and function requirements, policies, and quality standards.

Experience and Qualifications

  • 0-1 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of IATA and Safety Regulations.
  • Familiarity with company policies and procedures related to cargo loading.

Working Relationships

Internal: The Load Master will collaborate with all divisions and departments, direct reports, relevant employees across different levels, and all concerned SACC personnel as required.

External: The role involves interaction with regulatory and government agencies, third-party service providers, industry groups and consortia, commercial partners, contractors, and suppliers.
