About the Merchandise Manager Role

Career Executive 赛睿人力资源 is seeking a Merchandise Manager Construction Materials to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is central to managing and optimizing the construction materials category within the dynamic Saudi market, ensuring alignment with customer demands and strategic business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct frequent on-site visits to customer construction projects and sites to accurately identify and sort customer procurement demands for construction materials.
• Take over business opportunities from sales teams, performing product selection, category layout, and medium-to-long term category planning for the Saudi construction materials market.
• Research local construction material market demand, competitor product assortment, and pricing systems; optimize cross-border and local product portfolios to enhance category sales volume and gross profit.
• Collaborate with procurement and supplier teams to optimize product supply structure, manage product lifecycle, adjust SKU mix, and eliminate low-performing goods.
• Track category operation data, including sales, inventory, and gross margin; produce regular analysis reports and propose category operation optimization plans.
• Work with local sales, warehouse, and logistics teams to align product supply with customer demand, ensuring stable delivery and effective after-sales product matching.
• Assist the regional lead in rolling out localized category operation strategies and expanding high-quality construction material resources that match Saudi market needs and Chinese client requirements.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or above.
• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in the construction materials or building materials industry.
• Solid familiarity with structural materials (steel, cement, concrete), finishing materials, MEP materials, and construction consumables.
• Candidates with experience from construction companies, real estate developers, or engineering firms as material engineers or procurement managers are highly preferred.
• Candidates with both sales and procurement backgrounds are considered a significant advantage.

Essential Competencies

• Ability to independently complete customer demand sorting, product selection, and category planning.
• Strong data analysis, market insight, and cross-team coordination skills.
• Willingness to undertake frequent cross-city customer site trips within Saudi Arabia.

Work Environment and Location

This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role requires frequent travel to customer construction projects and sites across various cities within Saudi Arabia to effectively manage demand discovery and collaboration.
