About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center (KFSH) in Riyadh is seeking a Neurophysiology Laboratory Specialist for a full-time position. This role involves assisting with the supervision of the Clinical Neurophysiology Section and maintaining designated responsibility for a defined procedural area within the laboratory.

Role Overview

The Neurophysiology Laboratory Specialist plays a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of the laboratory. This includes performing a range of clinical and technical duties, contributing to quality management, and ensuring adherence to hospital and laboratory policies. The specialist also acts as a liaison between medical and technical staff and may assume supervisory duties in the absence of the Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform clinical and technical duties, including pro-rata on-call, related to various neurophysiological procedures such as Electroencephalography (EEG), Evoked Potentials (EPs), Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS)/Electromyography (EMG), Long Term Monitoring (LTM), Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring (IONM), Pulse Oximetry (Pox), Autonomic Studies, and Sleep Studies.
  • Assist with the day-to-day supervision of the Neurophysiology Laboratory service as assigned.
  • Act as a supervisor during absences of the Neurophysiology Laboratory Manager.
  • Assist in ensuring all laboratory equipment is in safe working condition and that necessary laboratory materials and supplies are available.
  • Participate in the development and modification of laboratory policies and standards of practice.
  • Assist in ensuring adherence to all Hospital and laboratory policies and standards of practice.
  • Support the implementation of quality management and quality improvement programs within the laboratory.
  • Act as a liaison between the medical and technical staff of the Laboratory.
  • Liaise with other Hospital departments as required.

Qualifications and Certifications

  • Current registration from country of origin and the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required.
  • Board registration in EEG/Electrodiagnostics is required.
  • Certification through examination from an accredited Electroneurodiagnostic Program is required.

Required Experience

Candidates should possess 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in a neurophysiology laboratory setting.
