About Misk Schools and the Role

Misk Schools is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves supporting the Procurement & Purchasing Manager in executing procurement activities, ensuring efficient sourcing, purchasing, and supplier management. A key aspect of this position also includes safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, in line with the school’s safeguarding policies and staff code of conduct.

Role Purpose

The Procurement Specialist focuses on operational procurement tasks, maintaining compliance with established policies, and contributing to the optimization of procurement processes. The role directly supports the designated safeguarding lead as a priority to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students at the school.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute purchase requisitions, create purchase orders, and monitor delivery timelines.
  • Maintain and update procurement records and documentation.
  • Assist in evaluating vendor proposals and preparing procurement contracts.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Support supplier evaluation processes, including performance assessments.
  • Handle routine communications with suppliers to resolve issues.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies and legal standards.
  • Monitor and report on procurement key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings within assigned procurement tasks.
  • Support the Procurement & Purchasing Manager in achieving budget targets.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to meet procurement requirements.
  • Support cross-functional teams during procurement projects.
  • Assist the Procurement & Purchasing Manager with market research and supplier sourcing.
  • Utilize Oracle ERP to streamline procurement workflows, track transactions, and generate reports.
  • Suggest improvements for better utilization of Oracle ERP in procurement workflows.
  • Maintain and update procurement systems to ensure data accuracy.
  • Suggest process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Prepare and generate regular procurement activity reports for review.
  • Undertake additional duties as required by the line manager.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, procurement, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, including familiarity with supplier sourcing, operational procurement processes, and Oracle ERP systems in procurement activities.

Required Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong organizational, time management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in both Arabic and English.
  • Knowledge of procurement regulations, compliance standards, data entry, and Oracle ERP procurement modules.
  • Analytical skills for procurement reporting and data management.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, operating within an educational institution where the welfare of children and young people is paramount. Salary for this position will be disclosed during the interview process.
