About the Role

UCC Holding is seeking a dedicated Risk Manager to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time position is critical for ensuring robust risk management practices across our construction projects, from inception through completion.

Role Purpose and Impact

The Risk Manager is responsible for the comprehensive identification, assessment, monitoring, and mitigation of project risks throughout the entire construction lifecycle. This role ensures the implementation of proactive risk management strategies to minimize potential threats to project cost, schedule, quality, safety, and overall objectives, while also identifying and maximizing opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the Project Risk Management Plan in alignment with company standards.
  • Identify, assess, and prioritize project risks using both qualitative and quantitative risk assessment techniques.
  • Maintain and regularly update the project Risk Register.
  • Facilitate risk workshops with project teams, consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor risk mitigation actions and ensure their timely implementation by responsible parties.
  • Analyze the impact of identified risks on project cost, schedule, quality, safety, and operational aspects.
  • Prepare comprehensive risk reports, dashboards, and presentations for project management and executive leadership.
  • Coordinate closely with Planning, Commercial, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, HSE, and Quality teams to ensure integrated risk management across all functions.
  • Conduct Monte Carlo simulations and other quantitative risk analyses where applicable.
  • Support claims avoidance efforts through proactive identification and mitigation of contractual and commercial risks.
  • Ensure strict compliance with company policies, client requirements, and international risk management standards, including ISO 31000.
  • Monitor emerging risks and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
  • Participate in project reviews, audits, and lessons learned sessions to foster continuous improvement.

Required Experience

Candidates should possess 5 to 10 years of experience in risk management, preferably within the construction industry or a related field. This experience should include a proven track record in implementing risk management frameworks and leading risk assessment processes.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong analytical skills for identifying and assessing complex project risks.
  • Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative risk assessment techniques, including Monte Carlo simulations.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills for conducting workshops and presenting reports to diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Thorough understanding of international risk management standards, such as ISO 31000.
  • Proactive approach to monitoring emerging risks and recommending strategic actions.
