About Mace and the Project

Mace combines construction expertise with consultancy to deliver complex projects globally. We are seeking a Risk Manager to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is integral to one of the largest programmes in Saudi Arabia, a significant mixed-use development encompassing sports, entertainment, arts facilities, and associated infrastructure.

The Role of Risk Manager

As a Risk Manager, you will lead integrated teams through various project phases, ensuring robust risk management practices are embedded. This position requires a professional who can champion safety, promote wellbeing standards, and drive continuous improvement in risk frameworks across a high-value programme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion safety-first values, confidently applying stop-work authority and promoting wellbeing standards.
  • Demonstrate leadership behaviours aligned with organisational values, including mentoring and coaching junior staff.
  • Implement and continuously improve risk frameworks, registers, dashboards, and reporting processes.
  • Facilitate risk workshops, reviews, and assessments to identify, evaluate, and mitigate project risks.
  • Collaborate with project teams to integrate risk controls into project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Monitor changes to risk exposure and the effectiveness of controls, driving timely mitigation and continuous improvement.
  • Support risk reviews, workshops, audits, and assurance activities to promote compliance with governance requirements and industry best practice.
  • Partner with project teams to embed risk management into project planning, delivery, schedules, and budgets.
  • Ensure high-quality risk data, compliance with best practice, and proactive monitoring of changing risk profiles.
  • Work collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of associated carbon emissions and reductions during work delivery.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A relevant degree or diploma in risk management, engineering, or project management.
  • Progressing toward chartership with a recognised professional body and commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • Over 10 years of risk leadership experience on major projects, ideally within KSA or the Middle East.
  • Strong expertise in risk tools, analytics, and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Ability to meet necessary visa criteria for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and possess relevant work experience on high-value projects/programmes for a project management consultancy business, as required for immigration and client approval.

Working Environment

This full-time role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and involves working on a large-scale, multi-faceted development. As a delivery partner, Mace requires professionals capable of leading integrated teams in a dynamic project environment.
