Salesforce Technical Architect

About the Role

Horizontal Digital is seeking a Salesforce Technical Architect to lead the technical design for a large-scale, integration-heavy Salesforce program. This role supports a major enterprise client in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and requires ownership of the technical architecture across the Salesforce ecosystem and connected systems. The successful candidate will ensure solutions meet both business and technical requirements, operating in a hands-on capacity while guiding development teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and own the end-to-end Salesforce architecture across Sales, Service, Experience, Marketing, Data Cloud, and industry-specific clouds.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders and functional leads to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Evaluate and design integration patterns between Salesforce and external systems using APIs, middleware, and event-driven approaches.
• Ensure all solutions adhere to enterprise architecture standards for scalability, security, and performance.
• Guide development teams through design reviews, best practices, and code quality oversight.
• Define API standards and data models, including canonical models, to support a well-architected approach.
• Support pre-sales activities through solutioning, effort estimation, and architecture advice.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including ERDs, sequence diagrams, data mappings, and architecture blueprints.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in designing and delivering scalable Salesforce technical architectures. This role requires the ability to prepare and present technical design rationale to stakeholders, driving decisions that provide clarity and direction. Candidates should be comfortable working directly with clients to shape technical solutions aligned with business goals and possess strong skills in guiding and mentoring developers, including running code and design reviews. End-to-end ownership of architecture, including validating designs and maintaining Architecture Decision Records, is essential.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Experience: 8+ years of client-facing consulting experience focused on Salesforce architecture and solution design, with 5-10 years of overall experience.
• Hands-on Experience: 8+ years with Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Data Cloud, and MuleSoft. Marketing Cloud experience is beneficial.
• Location: Based in, or willing to relocate to, Riyadh or Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
• Team Collaboration: Experience working in cross-functional project teams to understand requirements and deliver secure, scalable solutions.
• Documentation Skills: Strong system documentation skills (ERDs, process flows, sequence diagrams, etc.).
• Integration Expertise: Proven experience designing scalable integration patterns with external systems, including RESTful APIs, middleware platforms, and batch/real-time interfaces.
• Salesforce Certifications: Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Agentforce, and one or more Salesforce Architect domain certifications (*, Application Architect, System Architect).
• Methodologies: Experience with agile methods, including estimation and planning across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Language Proficiency: Fluent in English (essential) and Arabic (preferred), with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to business and technical stakeholders in both languages.
• Platform Knowledge: Deep understanding of Salesforce platform limits, security model, deployment architecture, and performance considerations.
• DevOps: Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Salesforce release strategies.
• AI Tools: Ability to leverage AI tools such as Claude Code across the delivery lifecycle to accelerate design and development, while analyzing the impact of changes and ensuring safe validation and rollout.
• Data Migration: Capable of designing data migration strategies across different Salesforce clouds and defining mechanisms to validate data accuracy and completeness.

Beneficial Skills and Experience

• Experience with event streaming on Kafka / Confluent, including consumer groups, Schema Registry, and Avro/JSON serialization.
• Experience with data transformation and mapping, especially from nested JSON and EDIFACT into a canonical relational model.
• Experience with Data Cloud, MuleSoft, Field Service, or Revenue Cloud.
• Previous delivery experience in Saudi Arabia or the wider GCC region.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh or Jeddah. The role involves working across functional, technical, integration, and data workstreams, requiring strong collaboration with both business and IT stakeholders. The environment emphasizes continuous learning and improvement.
