About the Role

stc is seeking a Satellite NOC & SOC Assistant Manager to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is central to governing and monitoring end-to-end GEO, MEO, and LEO satellite services. The primary objective is to ensure the availability, reliability, and operational continuity of services across space, ground, and customer service domains, adhering to all stipulated business policies and procedures.

Core Responsibilities

  • Establish 24/7 end-to-end monitoring for GEO/MEO/LEO satellite services, encompassing space segment, ground segment, gateways, user terminals, links, and customer services.
  • Monitor centralized operational status, orbital assets, satellite health, and service-impacting space events to enable proactive responses.
  • Operate fault management platforms for proactive detection, prioritization, and escalation of service-affecting alarms.
  • Govern major incident management, coordinating restoration efforts across partners, operators, and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with service providers for daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly operational reviews.
  • Act as the technical authority for satellite operations, providing governance and guidance across space and ground segments.
  • Perform preventive maintenance through baseline health checks.

Operational Governance and Investigations

  • Lead problem management, including conducting root cause analysis and implementing permanent corrective actions.
  • Conduct technical investigations for outages and degradations related to payloads, transponders, gateways, inter-satellite links, and customer platforms.
  • Govern change management processes, ensuring thorough risk assessments, implementation reviews, and post-change validation.
  • Audit managed service providers to ensure compliance with established standards, contracts, and best practices.
  • Coordinate the technical acceptance of new satellites, gateways, payloads, and providers.
  • Troubleshoot and escalate faults via Technical Support Systems (TSS), ensuring timely resolutions and proper escalation paths.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as Service Performance, Engineering, and Cybersecurity to ensure end-to-end operational governance.
  • Serve as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for Commercial Unit inquiries and manage L0/L1 performance for GEO/MEO/LEO services.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications Engineering or a related Engineering discipline.
  • Over 5 years of experience in a related discipline.
  • Prior experience within Satellite Services Infrastructure in the Telecommunication industry.
