Senior Civil Engineer (Mega Civil Project)

About the Role

IDOM Consulting, Engineering, Architecture is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join its Project and Construction Management team in Riyadh. This full-time position is within the Infrastructure Division and focuses on Civil Engineering and Transportation projects, specifically those involving roads, highways, bridges, underpasses, tunnels, and associated urban infrastructure. The role requires a minimum of 10 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Civil Engineer will be responsible for coordinating all technical aspects related to road works and ensuring compliance with project objectives. This includes:

• Coordinating technical aspects of road works, including quality control, drawing revision, value engineering, and technical construction method review and follow-up.
• Coordinating with other senior specialists in structures, drainage, ITS, and materials.
• Resolving design issues or coordinating them with home office support.
• Providing technical advice on design changes.
• Overseeing the Contractor’s technical submissions, shop drawings, materials, and design submissions.
• Conducting final reviews of all Contractor’s relevant documentation, drawings, and submittals to ensure compliance with project design concepts.
• Assessing and reporting technically on Value Engineering proposals.
• Acting as the Point of Contact between the Civil Engineering department and the Technical Manager.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, with a specialty or major in Road Design, or equivalent work experience.
• Formal qualifications or affiliations with RICS, IQS, ICES, or CIOB.
• Over 15 years of applicable experience in consultancy and project management roles, specifically on mega construction projects, primarily as a Consultant. Candidates with exclusive contractor experience will not be considered.
• Demonstrated experience in ROADS and DESIGN. Candidates without clear road design experience will not be considered.
• Experience reviewing contractor submissions and supervising site works.
• Understanding of local regulations and safety standards.
