Senior Health and Safety Manager (Night Shifts)

About the Role

Mace is seeking a Senior Health and Safety Manager to provide dedicated night-shift support for a major stadium project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This part-time position requires 5-10 years of experience and will be highly site-focused, supporting construction activities and maintaining a visible Health & Safety presence throughout night operations.

Project Context

This role is part of a large-scale program in Saudi Arabia, involving a significant mixed-use development. The project includes sports facilities, entertainment, and arts, along with all associated infrastructure. The Senior Health and Safety Manager will specifically support a major stadium component within this development.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide proactive health and safety leadership across night-shift construction activities.
• Maintain a highly visible presence throughout active work areas.
• Monitor contractor compliance with project health and safety requirements.
• Identify unsafe acts, conditions, and emerging risks, intervening as appropriate.
• Challenge contractors and site teams when standards are not being achieved.
• Support the safe delivery of major civil, structural, and construction activities.
• Conduct site inspections and monitor working practices.
• Support incident reporting, observations, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate closely with construction managers and the wider health and safety team.
• Ensure appropriate health and safety information is communicated between shifts.
• Promote a strong safety culture across the project.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Strong Health & Safety experience within major construction environments.
• Experience supporting complex, high-value, or large-scale construction programs.
• Strong knowledge of site-based health and safety management.
• Confidence in engaging with and challenging contractors.
• Practical understanding of civil and structural construction activities.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Comfortable operating independently during night shifts.

Work Environment

This role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and requires dedicated night-shift work. The position is part-time, and Mace is open to discussing flexible and hybrid working options if suitable for the role.
