The Role of Senior Internal Auditor

Cenomi Retail is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires a highly motivated internal audit professional with 5-10 years of experience, strong exposure to the retail sector, and practical experience in risk-based auditing. The role involves executing internal audit engagements, evaluating controls, and utilizing data analytics to enhance audit effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute internal audit engagements in accordance with the approved audit plan and methodology.
• Participate in audit planning activities, including risk assessments, process walkthroughs, and control identification.
• Conduct audit fieldwork, testing, and documentation of business processes and controls.
• Identify control weaknesses, operational inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
• Prepare comprehensive and well-supported audit working papers and assist in drafting clear, concise audit reports.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management processes, and governance practices.
• Assess compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulations.
• Support remediation tracking and validation of management action plans.
• Assist in identifying emerging business and operational risks.
• Utilize data analytics tools and techniques to enhance audit coverage and effectiveness.
• Analyze large data sets to identify trends, anomalies, control gaps, and potential risks.
• Stay updated on developments in internal auditing standards, risk management practices, and industry trends.
• Support implementation of best practices and process improvements within the Internal Audit function.
• Work collaboratively with audit team members and provide support and knowledge sharing to junior team members.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5-7 years of experience in internal audit, with strong exposure to the retail sector.
• Professional certification or progression towards certification (CIA/CPA/SOCPA/ACCA).
• Practical experience in risk-based auditing.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analytics.
• Prior experience with a Big 4 accounting firm is preferred.
• Bilingual proficiency in Arabic and English is preferred.
• Saudi nationals are preferred.
