About the Role

Alrawaf Contracting is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Office Civil Engineer to join our construction team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves managing and coordinating technical engineering activities within the construction sector, requiring strong knowledge of industry practices and standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review project drawings, specifications, Bill of Quantities (BOQ), contracts, and other technical documents.
  • Prepare, review, and coordinate shop drawings and construction drawings.
  • Identify discrepancies or design conflicts in architectural, structural, and civil drawings.
  • Prepare and review material submittals, technical submittals, RFIs, method statements, and technical reports.
  • Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and site engineers to resolve technical issues.
  • Prepare quantity take-offs and verify quantities against drawings and BOQ.
  • Support the preparation and evaluation of variation orders, claims, and additional works.
  • Review subcontractor technical submissions for compliance with project requirements.
  • Coordinate with planning and commercial departments on technical and contractual matters.
  • Monitor and follow up on consultant/client comments, ensuring timely closure.
  • Prepare and maintain as-built drawings and project documentation.
  • Assist in preparing construction details, technical calculations, and engineering solutions.
  • Ensure all technical submissions comply with approved drawings, project specifications, applicable standards, and Saudi regulations.
  • Provide technical support to site engineers and construction teams.
  • Attend technical coordination meetings and prepare/track technical action items.
  • Review construction methods and provide technical recommendations to improve project execution.
  • Maintain records of drawings, revisions, RFIs, submittals, approvals, and technical correspondence.
  • Coordinate with BIM/CAD teams where applicable.
  • Ensure engineering activities adhere to company policies, project requirements, quality standards, and HSE procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience as a Civil Engineer, with 5-10 years of experience in a technical office or similar role within the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction practices, engineering standards, and contract requirements.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively between technical office, site teams, consultants, subcontractors, and project management.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Timely submission and approval of technical documents.
  • Accuracy of shop drawings and quantity take-offs.
  • Timely closure of RFIs and consultant comments.
  • Effective management of technical issues.
  • Reduction of construction rework and technical discrepancies.
  • Accurate support for variations and claims.
  • Compliance with project specifications and approved drawings.
  • Effective coordination between technical office and site teams.
  • Timely completion of as-built documentation.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, working within a dynamic construction team environment.
