About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center (KFSH) in Riyadh is seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse I for its Nursing Staffing & Scheduling department. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of experience and involves providing comprehensive nursing care while utilizing the nursing process and adhering to established standards of practice. The role also includes demonstrating leadership competencies when acting as a shift resource or team leader.

Core Nursing Practice

The Staff Nurse I is responsible for delivering total patient care as assigned, ensuring alignment with core standards of patient care and established policies and evidence-based practices. This includes assuming accountability for the complete nursing process: assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, as well as managing discharge planning for each individual. Accurate, appropriate, and timely documentation of all relevant patient information is a key aspect of this role.

Quality, Safety, and Collaboration

• Contributes to decreasing the length of stay/waiting time as per unit-specific goals, working in collaboration with Case Management.
• Reports equipment failures, safety and security issues, and/or reduction of supply inventory to the Head Nurse or designee.
• Demonstrates collaborative multi-disciplinary partnerships to achieve constant improvement in quality patient care.
• Acts as an advocate for patients and families, identifying ideas to improve care quality and issues that could negatively affect patient outcomes.
• Promotes a safe environment and safe patient care by embracing a safety culture, identifying areas of risk, and complying with policies for personal and patient safety, including the prevention of healthcare-associated infections.
• Contributes to the achievement of cost efficiency savings on the unit and maintains awareness of resource utilization.
• Contributes to the achievement of clinical quality outcome indicators and patient satisfaction.

Leadership and Professional Development

• Leads unit-based Performance Improvement activities as assigned.
• Participates in new staff/nursing student orientation, assisting in maintaining a suitable learning environment.
• Acts as a preceptor/mentor in the supervision and teaching of nursing students and new staff to develop their competence.
• Demonstrates transcultural principles in nursing practice.
• Contributes to special projects/assignments linked to nursing strategic priorities and professional practice model as assigned.
• Assists in promoting and sharing knowledge via mentorship in line with relevant research and evidence-based practice.
• Participates in self and other’s education, training, and development, as applicable.

Qualifications and Licensure

Candidates for the Staff Nurse I position must meet the following requirements:

• Current Registered Nurse Licensure from the country of origin.
• Current Saudi Commission for Health Specialties Licensure.

A minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant nursing experience is required for this full-time role.
