About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Center (KFSH) | مستشفى الملك فيصل التخصصي in Riyadh is seeking a dedicated Staff Nurse I, Nursing Staffing & Scheduling (Sec)-R to join its team. This full-time role involves providing comprehensive nursing care, utilizing the nursing process, and adhering to established standards of nursing practice and performance. The Staff Nurse I demonstrates leadership competencies when acting as a shift resource or team leader.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide total patient care as assigned, following core standards of patient care and established policies and evidence-based practices.
  • Assume accountability for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care, as well as discharge planning for each patient.
  • Document all relevant information correctly, appropriately, and in a timely manner.
  • Report equipment failures, safety and security issues, and/or reduction of supply inventory to the Head Nurse or designee.
  • Comply with policies for personal and patient safety and for the prevention of healthcare-associated infections.
  • Maintain an awareness of resource utilization, exercising care in the ordering and use of staff, equipment, and materials.

Patient Care and Quality Improvement

  • Contribute to decreasing the length of stay/waiting time as per unit-specific goals, working in collaboration with Case Management.
  • Demonstrate collaborative multi-disciplinary partnerships working towards the achievement of constant improvement in quality patient care.
  • Act as an advocate for patients and families.
  • Identify ideas that will improve the quality of patient care and issues that will negatively affect patient care outcomes, using the professional practice framework.
  • Promote a safe environment and safe patient care by embracing a safety culture and identifying areas of risk to the Head Nurse or designee.
  • Contribute to the achievement of cost efficiency savings on the unit and to clinical quality outcome indicators and patient satisfaction.
  • Lead unit-based Performance Improvement activities as assigned.

Professional Development and Collaboration

  • Participate in new staff/nursing student orientation aimed at developing competence and performance.
  • Assist in maintaining a suitable learning environment and act as a preceptor/mentor in the supervision and teaching of nursing students and new staff.
  • Demonstrate transcultural principles in nursing practice.
  • Contribute to special projects/assignments linked to nursing strategic priorities and the professional practice model as assigned.
  • Assist in promoting and sharing knowledge via mentorship in line with relevant research and evidence-based practice.
  • Follow all Hospital-related policies and procedures.
  • Participate in self and other’s education, training, and development, as applicable.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Current Registered Nurse Licensure from country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties Licensure is required.
  • Two (2) years of nursing experience with a Bachelor’s Degree OR four (4) years of nursing experience with an Associate Degree/Diploma is required.

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within a leading specialist hospital environment dedicated to patient care and medical research.
