About the Role

Bupa Arabia is seeking a Technician Neurodiagnostics to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is crucial for supporting neurologists and other healthcare professionals in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with neurological disorders. The role requires specialized knowledge in neurology, technical skills, and a compassionate approach to patient care, with 0-1 years of experience required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct diagnostic tests, including electroencephalograms (EEG), nerve conduction studies, electromyograms (EMG), and autonomic testing, following established protocols.
  • Prepare patients for neurological tests, explain procedures, and provide instructions to ensure comfort and cooperation.
  • Assist neurologists during diagnostic procedures, including patient positioning, equipment setup, and troubleshooting.
  • Assess patient educational needs and interact with relevant staff and departments to facilitate requirements.
  • Educate patients and their families about neurological conditions, diagnostic tests, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications as prescribed.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and families, ensuring understanding of discharge instructions and follow-up care.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to coordinate patient care and ensure seamless transitions.
  • Accurately record test results, patient information, and other relevant data in electronic medical records (EMR) systems, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Maintain neurology equipment, ensuring proper calibration and readiness for use, following manufacturer guidelines and safety protocols.
  • Adhere to strict infection control protocols and implement safety measures to protect patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Identify and report defective or broken equipment, safety hazards, and environmental hazards.

Professional Development and Quality

  • Stay informed about advancements in neurology technology, diagnostic techniques, and treatment options through ongoing training and professional development.
  • Seek opportunities for professional growth and skill development through workshops, seminars, and certifications.
  • Demonstrate and maintain competence in all mandatory competencies and current licensure and certifications.
  • Adhere to all relevant regulations, protocols, and safety standards to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to patient complaints and concerns, initiating the nursing or administrative chain of command if unable to resolve patient issues.
  • Assist the Head Nurse of the unit by accepting other work-related responsibilities as assigned within the scope of the job.
