Vehicle Inspection Specialist

About the Role

Soum is seeking a Vehicle Inspection Specialist to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time role is critical to ensuring that every vehicle delivered meets the promised condition. The specialist will be responsible for providing accurate technical assessments of vehicles, from initial inspection to post-sale issue resolution, and will support the Cars Operations team with various tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct initial inspections of vehicles, assessing body, exterior, interior, and overall condition against Soum's checklist.
• Evaluate mechanical and electrical components, including engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, steering, and electrical systems.
• Identify and document any damage, defects, previous repairs, or discrepancies.
• Produce clear and accurate inspection reports, including photographs of vehicle condition and any defects found.
• Record all findings, reports, and photos in the system for Sales and After-Sales teams.
• Perform final pre-handover inspections to confirm the vehicle matches its report and includes all accessories (keys, manual, spare tyre).
• Assess technical issues raised in post-sale warranty requests and complaints, determining cause and recommending fixes.
• Document technical findings for the After-Sales Customer Experience Specialist to communicate with customers.
• Brief approved maintenance workshops on technical findings and required work, and review completed repairs.
• Coordinate with the Operations team throughout the vehicle journey and support other operational tasks as needed.

Vehicle Handover Support

• Confirm the car has passed its pre-handover check and all accessories are present before appointments.
• Walk customers through the car's condition and inspection report, and introduce key features.
• Document the handover process with the customer, including signing forms and taking photos.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Demonstrated knowledge of and hands-on experience in car inspection.
• Ability to inspect a vehicle's body, exterior, interior, and overall condition thoroughly.
• Good automotive knowledge, including understanding car components and how to assess their condition.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in identifying vehicle issues.
• Flexibility and willingness to support various operational tasks.

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Previous experience inspecting used cars.
• Experience using diagnostic tools and scanners.
• Experience in writing inspection reports or using digital inspection systems.
