Job Description

About the Role

Soum is seeking a Vehicle Inspection Specialist to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time role is critical to ensuring the accuracy of vehicle condition documentation, as every car handed over by Soum carries our name and must meet promised standards. The specialist will be responsible for providing the technical truth about each vehicle, from initial inspection to final handover, and for assessing post-sale technical issues. This position requires 0-1 years of experience.

Role Context and Objectives

This is a technical role focused on vehicle assessment and documentation, not direct customer interaction. The Vehicle Inspection Specialist will work closely with the After-Sales Customer Experience Specialist, providing accurate and clearly documented findings to support customer communication and case resolution. The primary objectives are to ensure no car leaves the showroom with an undocumented defect, that all inspection reports are accurate and complete, and that technical issues are diagnosed promptly and routed for appropriate resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial inspections of all vehicles, covering body, exterior, interior, and overall condition against Soum's approved checklist.
  • Assess mechanical and electrical components, including engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, steering, and electrical systems.
  • Identify and report any damage, defects, previous repairs, issues, or discrepancies compared to what was listed or agreed with the buyer.
  • Record the overall condition of each vehicle consistently to maintain uniform condition ratings.
  • Produce clear, accurate inspection reports for every vehicle, written to be understandable by non-technical colleagues.
  • Take and attach photographs of each vehicle's condition and any defects found to the respective report.
  • Record all findings, reports, and photos in the system for access by Sales and After-Sales teams.
  • Maintain complete and up-to-date inspection records to verify vehicle condition at any stage.
  • Perform final inspections before vehicle handover, confirming alignment with the inspection report and no change in condition since listing.
  • Verify that all accessories (keys, manual, spare tire) are present and confirm the car's readiness for handover, or flag necessary fixes.
  • Assess technical issues from post-sale warranty requests and complaints, determining likely causes, pre-handover presence, and recommended fixes.
  • Document technical findings for the After-Sales CX Specialist to update customers.
  • Escalate technical issues outside authority according to approved procedures.
  • Brief approved maintenance workshops on technical findings and required work.
  • Review completed repairs to confirm issue resolution before case closure.
  • Provide feedback on recurring defects and post-sale technical complaints to improve future inspection checklists.
  • Coordinate with the Operations team throughout the car journey, from initial inspection to handover.
  • Support other Cars Operations tasks as required.

Required Experience

  • 0-1 years of relevant experience.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, where the specialist will be an integral part of the Cars Operations team, contributing to the quality assurance process for all vehicles handled by Soum.
