Job Description

About the Role: Vehicle Inspection Specialist

Soum is seeking a Vehicle Inspection Specialist to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time role is central to ensuring the accuracy of vehicle condition assessments, as every car delivered by Soum must match its promised state. The specialist will be responsible for providing technical verification of each vehicle's condition, from initial inspection to final handover, and for diagnosing post-sale technical issues.

Core Responsibilities and Objectives

The primary objective of this role is to ensure that no vehicle leaves the showroom with undocumented defects, that all inspection reports are accurate and complete, and that technical issues are diagnosed promptly and routed for appropriate resolution. This is a technical position that supports the Cars Operations team and collaborates with After-Sales Customer Experience Specialists by providing clear, documented findings.

Key Duties

  • Conduct initial inspections of all vehicles, assessing body, exterior, interior, and overall condition against Soum's checklist.
  • Evaluate mechanical and electrical components, including engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, steering, and electrical systems.
  • Identify and document any damage, defects, previous repairs, or discrepancies.
  • Produce clear and accurate inspection reports, including photographs of vehicle condition and identified defects.
  • Record all findings, reports, and photos within the system for access by Sales and After-Sales teams.
  • Perform final pre-handover inspections to confirm the vehicle matches its report and has not changed condition.
  • Verify that all accessories (keys, manual, spare tire) are present before handover.
  • Assess technical issues raised in post-sale warranty requests and complaints, determining cause and recommending fixes.
  • Document technical findings for the After-Sales CX Specialist and escalate issues as needed.
  • Brief maintenance workshops on technical findings and required work, then review completed repairs.
  • Provide feedback on recurring defects to improve future inspection checklists.
  • Coordinate with the Operations team throughout the vehicle journey and support other operational tasks.

Performance Indicators

  • Inspection coverage: Percentage of vehicles with a completed inspection report before handover.
  • Report quality: Completeness of reports, including all checklist items and photos.
  • Inspection accuracy: Number of post-sale complaints traced to missed defects.
  • Pre-handover readiness: Number of handovers delayed due to technical or missing accessory issues.
  • Technical assessment time: Time from case referral to documented technical finding.
  • Repair verification: Percentage of workshop repairs checked and confirmed before case closure.

Work Environment

This is a full-time, technical role based in Riyadh, focusing on vehicle inspection and condition assessment. The specialist will work closely with the Cars Operations team and After-Sales Customer Experience Specialists, providing critical technical insights without direct customer interaction.
