Environmental Engineer

About the Role

NEOM Green Hydrogen Company is seeking an Environmental Engineer to support its sustainable development vision. This full-time position, based in Tabuk, focuses on ensuring environmental compliance and promoting best practices throughout all phases of the green hydrogen project. The role involves providing expert technical consultation, developing and implementing environmental programs, and ensuring alignment with national and international environmental standards.

Role Context and Scope

The Environmental Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, engineering, and sustainability departments. The position requires a blend of office-based analysis and field inspections. This role is central to maintaining environmental compliance, supporting permitting processes, and driving continuous improvement in environmental performance, directly contributing to the organization's long-term sustainability strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in environmental risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
• Develop company-specific environmental procedures and policies based on national and international standards to ensure compliance and environmental protection.
• Contribute to the preparation of the department’s annual budget.
• Conduct scheduled and unscheduled inspections to ensure the implementation of environmental procedures.
• Submit evaluation data and reports related to departmental activities to the Environmental Manager.
• Develop emergency response and environmental pollution control plans.
• Support all departments to ensure compliance with applicable environmental laws and standards.
• Prepare and deliver environmental awareness and training programs for employees.
• Provide expert environmental advice to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Ensure the Environmental Management System (EMS) complies with national and international standards.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in environmental engineering or a related field. The role requires a strong understanding of national and international environmental standards and regulations.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position located in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. The role involves collaboration with various internal teams and includes both office-based analytical work and field inspections.
