This role is for the Ar Rjum Project, a greenfield gold project located approximately 200 km north-east of Taif towards Riyadh, and about 26 km south of Al Mouwayh in the Central Arabian Gold Region. The project encompasses three open-pit mining operations, a processing plant, tailings management facilities, and comprehensive supporting infrastructure, including water and power supply, maintenance facilities, offices, and temporary and permanent accommodation villages.

Role Summary: Cost Engineer Process Plant

Bechtel is seeking a Cost Engineer Process Plant (GCC) for a full-time position on the Ar Rjum Project in Saudi Arabia, covering locations such as Taif and Riyadh. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing cost forecasts, reviewing cost trends, and implementing project requirements for cost control. Your detailed analysis will contribute to innovative solutions for cost engineering challenges within this significant greenfield development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain cost budgets and ensure accurate cost and cashflow forecasts, utilizing the change management system.
  • Perform ongoing cost and cash flow analysis to support project financial health.
  • Monitor contractor progress, verify monthly incurred costs, and prepare monthly accruals.
  • Provide variance analysis to highlight deviations from planned costs.
  • Ensure all approved trends and changes are accurately incorporated into the overall project estimate at completion (EAC) and budget for both cost and quantities.
  • Prepare routine performance reports and specialized studies related to assigned scope for presentation to project, corporate, and/or customer management teams.
  • Maintain open communication channels with other organizations to facilitate effective cost engineering analysis and control activities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Project/Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Between 5 to 10 years of professional experience in cost engineering, preferably within process plant or large-scale industrial projects.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in PC operating systems and multi-discipline specific software applications relevant to cost engineering.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with a proven ability to present Project Controls information clearly to management and clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, analyze, and solve complex problems effectively.
