This full-time role is based in Saudi Arabia, supporting the Ar Rjum Project. The Ar Rjum Project is a greenfield gold development located approximately 200 km north-east of Taif, featuring open pit mining, a processing plant, tailings management, and comprehensive supporting infrastructure.

The Role: Cost Engineer Cost Reporting Coordinator

Bechtel is seeking a Cost Engineer Cost Reporting Coordinator for the Ar Rjum project. This role is responsible for preparing cost forecasts, reviewing cost trends, and implementing project requirements for cost control. The successful candidate will provide detailed analysis to address cost engineering challenges and contribute to effective project financial management. This position requires 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain cost budgets and ensure accurate cost and cashflow forecasts, utilizing the change management system.
  • Perform ongoing cost and cash flow analysis to support project oversight.
  • Monitor contractor progress, verify monthly incurred costs, prepare monthly accruals, and provide variance analysis.
  • Ensure that approved trends and changes are accurately incorporated into the overall project estimate at completion (EAC) and budget for both cost and quantities.
  • Prepare routine performance reports and special studies related to assigned scope for presentation to project, corporate, and/or customer management teams.
  • Maintain open communications with other organizations to support cost engineering analysis and control activities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Project/Construction Management, or a related field (or international equivalent).
  • A minimum of 8-12 years of experience in cost engineering or a similar role.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Proficiency in using PC operating systems and multi-discipline specific software applications, including EcoSys, PowerBI, and Microsoft applications.
  • Demonstrated skill in oral and written communication, with the ability to present Project Controls information effectively to management and clients.
  • Proven ability to identify, analyze, and solve complex problems.
