Earthworks/Concrete Supervisor

About the Role

Bechtel Corporation is seeking a Civil/Concrete Construction Supervisor to join their team in Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves supervising, planning, and executing all civil work for the Ar-Rjum Gold Project, working closely with the main contractor.

Project Overview

The Ar-Rjum Project is a greenfield gold project located in the Central Arabian Gold Region, approximately 200 km north-east of Taif. It encompasses three open-pit mining operations, associated waste dumps and ore stockpiles, a processing plant, tailings management facilities, and supporting infrastructure including water and power supply, maintenance facilities, offices, and accommodation villages.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all civil and concrete construction activities within the Plant area, ensuring work adheres to safety standards, efficiency, and project requirements.
• Plan, direct, and monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with project schedules, engineering deliverables, construction priorities, and contractual obligations.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Quality, HSE, Field Engineering, and Construction teams to resolve technical and construction-related issues and maintain workfront availability.
• Review workforce, equipment, and material requirements to ensure adequate resources are available for project milestones and productivity targets.
• Administer the project through planning, engineering, procurement, and construction in coordination with the contractor.
• Ensure all civil works, including excavation, foundations, concrete placement, structural concrete, grouting, underground services, roads, and paving, are executed according to IFC drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and project procedures.
• Monitor work activities and ensure the quality of work performed, using the most current design documents and ensuring all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
• Monitor and control contractual commitments, ensuring work is performed in accordance with specifications, drawings, and contract terms, and that change orders are processed promptly.
• Report construction progress, productivity, constraints, risks, and resource requirements to the Construction Management team.
• Resolve problems and assist the Superintendent with the final civil turnover of the project to the customer.
• Provide leadership for the development and maintenance of a high-performance civil project team.
• Ensure civil project execution meets contract requirements, quality and safety standards, and customer and Bechtel performance expectations.
• Attend project and customer meetings to facilitate communication, review progress, discuss issues, and resolve problems.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in civil/concrete construction supervision.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise and coordinate complex civil construction activities.
• Experience in planning, directing, and monitoring contractor performance against project schedules and contractual obligations.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Saudi Arabia, supporting the Ar-Rjum Gold Project. The role requires active coordination across various project teams and with external contractors.
