About the Role
BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking a Personal Survival Pack Technician Supervisor for a full-time position in Taif. This role involves deputizing for a senior company employee within the Typhoon Maintenance Organisation, focusing on the Personal Survival Pack Shop, ensuring compliance, and driving continuous improvement. The supervisor will hold line management responsibilities, providing functional direction, guidance, and exercising duty of care, welfare, health, and safety.
Role Objective and Support
The primary objective of this role is to ensure the effective delivery of all activities specified in the shop component repair plan. The supervisor will support the success of the Salam Project against the Maintenance Support Service contracted Operational Readiness (OR) and Key Performance Measurements (KPM). This includes upholding a safety-first approach, ensuring compliance with BAE Systems Operational Framework and RSAF Logistics Management Regulations, and enhancing customer satisfaction through continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Deputize for a senior company employee within the Typhoon Maintenance Organisation, overseeing the Personal Survival Pack Shop.
- Ensure adherence to BAE Systems Operational Framework, Life Cycle Management (LCM) practices, Maintenance & Continuing Airworthiness (M&CA) Mandates, Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE), and Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) Logistics Management Regulations (LMR).
- Review maintenance practices and identify potential improvements within the organization.
- Recognize and report any malpractice affecting airworthiness or safety to the Senior Maintenance Manager.
- Ensure necessary facilities and resources are available for contractual obligations.
- Monitor personnel standards, identify negative trends, non-conformities, or motivational deficiencies.
- Accountable for the development reports of all personnel under direct and indirect line management.
- Provide training, consolidation, and counterpart development activities to RSAF and BAE Systems personnel.
- Maintain operational readiness of shop equipment and ensure correct tooling and approved data are available.
- Report and monitor equipment and infrastructure damage or deficiencies using correct media.
- Ensure all personnel undertaking maintenance are authorized and maintain anti-FOD surveillance.
- Ensure maintenance tasks are carried out to the highest quality standards, including accurate recording on the airworthiness tool (ESS).
- Conduct oversight checks for shop husbandry and escalate any planning deficiencies or delivery issues.
- Maintain competency currency for Martin Baker personal survival pack authorizations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Essential:
- A recognized qualification to NVQ3/ONC/OND/BTEC level in a relevant technical discipline, or a technical apprenticeship, or suitable equivalent technical qualification acceptable to M&CA.
- At least 7 years of post-qualification practical maintenance experience within an operational flying aircraft environment supported by formal recorded workplace applied related training, OR 3 years on the same aircraft type.
- Leadership skills and proven ability to supervise all levels of engineering personnel.
- Hold 2nd signature.
- Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) membership at the appropriate level is required prior to starting the role or commencing employment in KSA, and must be maintained throughout employment.
- Desirable:
- Thorough understanding of company processes and procedures.
- Broad aerospace and defense company/industry knowledge.
- Proven supervisory experience within the area of definition.
- An understanding of RAF and/or RSAF engineering operating procedures.
- A track record of meeting strict deadlines without compromising standards and quality.
- Previous experience of delivering workplace training.
- An understanding of ESS or a similar electronic-based reporting system.
- Martin Baker Qualification.
Experience Required
Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity.
